Signs, 2008
On a daily basis we are bombarded with signs giving all kinds of information.
Signs can instruct, advise, inform or warn us. With the removal of the text, the
signs are simplified to a geometric abstraction, emphasizing on shapes, lines and
colors. The sign is no longer made as a representation or to symbolize any other
object. What the sign was used for has lost its importance. The minimalistic view
of the subject is to challenge the perceptions of the viewer of a familiar object in
an unfamiliar way.
